Google Launched New Feature Called Bot-in-a-Box for Businesses

Google’s Business Messages platform recently launched a new feature called Bot-in-a-Box.

This new feature is designed to make it easier for businesses to handle customer conversations with AI-powered chatbots.

Business Messages allows customers to send messages to businesses from Google Search, Google Maps, and any other brand channels.

Because it utilizes the Google Cloud’s existing conversational AI tool Dialogflow to easily convert an FAQ document (CSV) or webpage into an automated bot without the need to write code.

You can literally launch a virtual agent that can give relevant responses to the most common questions asked by customers, within minutes.

In Dialogflow, this feature is referred to as ‘Knowledge Base’ where you can implement the same thing in other chatbots as well.

You can also add some advanced features like Book an Appointment, Order Food, etc. in Bot-in-a-Box by using Dialogflow’s intents. But for these features, you may need to write code.

How to Get Started with Bot-in-a-Box?

To get started with Bot-in-a-Box, you first have to register with Business Messages as a development partner on Google’s official developer website.

You can refer to this quick start guide by Google to get started with Business Messages.

After registering, go to the Business Communications Developer Console and create an agent.

After that, the first step is to enable Dialogflow integration with a Bot-in-a-Box. Currently, it supports only the Essentials (ES) version of Dialogflow.

Then, create a new Dialogflow project or add an existing one.

And, go to the Knowledge Base section in the left sidebar, create a new knowledge base and add a FAQ document (CSV) or webpage link, click, “Submit”.

And, That set! 

You just created a chatbot within a few minutes to answer common customer questions without writing any code.
